Today, with just one more sleep until the kiddies are squealing with delight over the heavy bags of candy that they carry home, the land here is still covered in white. This morning I checked the weather cams. There is no snow left on the Prairies, and there is no snow in Northern Ontario. As I like to say "Everyone loves to hate Ottawa, even Mother Nature!" Now, although we had a freak storm on Tuesday, we do not live in an area that has never seen the white stuff before. This brings me to the matter of traffic jams and accidents on Tuesday morning. We all had been bombarded with weather forecasts warning us that a snow storm was on its way. However, traffic radio reports said that traffic was moving more slowly than it had on the previous morning and there were also more fender benders than there had been, at that time, on the day before. Was it snowing Tuesday morning? Was I asleep at the wheel on my way to work and not noticing the cause to grip the steering wheel more tightly and slow down to a snail's pace? Can someone please explain why this happens each year on that first day, when there is just the threat of snow? What are people thinking? Why are they reacting like Chicken Little and acting as if the sky is falling? It is snow that is going to fall, people, not concrete blocks! Why is there a reaction from many as to what will happen in a few hours?If we lived in Florida where people who had never seen snow or driven in it, reacted the way that many Ottawans do, that would be understandible. If this was Toronto where they have a flare for the dramatic, and call upon the army, navy and whoever else to help them in their peril when they receive 10 centimeters or more, I would understand.However, information found on an Environment Canada website, reminds us that we are the snowiest national capital in the world. Why do many of us who have lived here for 5 years or more, still drive like fools when there is even talk of snow? Someone stated Tuesday morning on the radio, that perhaps we need to have the city make sychologists available for people to to learn to handle their fear of snow. Today, with just one more sleep until the kiddies are squealing with delight over the heavy bags of candy that they carry home, the land here is still covered in white.
This morning I checked the weather cams. There is no snow left on the Prairies, and there is no snow in Northern Ontario. As I like to say "Everyone loves to hate Ottawa, even Mother Nature!"
Now, although we had a freak storm on Tuesday, we do not live in an area that has never seen the white stuff before. This brings me to the matter of traffic jams and accidents on Tuesday morning. We all had been bombarded with weather forecasts warning us that a snow storm was on its way. However, traffic radio reports said that traffic was moving more slowly than it had on the previous morning and there were also more fender benders than there had been, at that time, on the day before. Was it snowing Tuesday morning? Was I asleep at the wheel on my way to work and not noticing the cause to grip the steering wheel more tightly and slow down to a snail's pace? Can someone please explain why this happens each year on that first day, when there is just the threat of snow? What are people thinking? Why are they reacting like Chicken Little and acting as if the sky is falling? It is snow that is going to fall, people, not concrete blocks! Why is there a reaction from many as to what will happen in a few hours?
If we lived in Florida where people who had never seen snow or driven in it, reacted the way that many Ottawans do, that would be understandible. If this was Toronto where they have a flare for the dramatic, and call upon the army, navy and whoever else to help them in their peril when they receive 10 centimeters or more, I would understand.
However, information found on an Environment Canada website, reminds us that we are the snowiest national capital in the world. Why do many of us who have lived here for 5 years or more, still drive like fools when there is even talk of snow? Someone stated Tuesday morning on the radio, that perhaps we need to have the city make sychologists available for people to to learn to handle their fear of snow. Although the comment was meant as a joke, when I checked the internet, I did indeed find psychologists who deal in Chionophobia which is "a persistent, abnormal, and unwarranted fear of snow".

our philosophy
Legend has it that the story of Hangar 13 originated on the green fields of the British country side during WWII. As the growing Allied Air Forces were constructing hangars to house their aircraft, they assigned numbers to the new buildings. Pilots, being a superstitious lot, refused to have their plane in the 13th hangar. So it sat, until somebody came up with the ideal use for the empty building. They made it the airfield bar. The 13th hangar became a place were pilots and crew would come together to celebrate their victories, mourn their losses, and find courage for the daring feats they were called upon to perform. Hangar 13 became and remains a source of inspiration, dreams, and imagination.Enter New Text

Editing
When editing your website, right click over Gallery thumbnails and "Select a File" and choose an xml file of images. You will find the example gallery.xml file in the data/xml directory. Flashblocks ML will take care of the rest, creating both thumbnail and full size images to the specified dimensions.
The Quotes Module fades in and out displaying a list of quotes to the visitor. The speed at which each quote is displayed varies depending on the length of each quotes text and the speed that the designer designated while designing the website.
This Module allows the administrator to easily add, delete and rearrange items, all from withing Flashblocks ML.

Scroll through and select the product that you wish to learn more about. Then select the product from the description area, on the right, to add that item to your PayPal shopping cart.
This example is, once again, created by the List Module. The contents are the same as those found in the previous example Although this time, on the right, there is an additional movie clip, that displays the full text from the original list. As before products may be added, rearranged, edited, and deleted by the administrator.
The List Module powered News feed allows for many more options then previously available. Display news in a running list or, as in this example, display just the headlines, with additional viewable details, as in the News 2 example that follows.
All three of these News Example are reading from the same file, list_news.xml.
Right-Click or press Ctrl+Shift while your mouse is over each module to see editing options.
The News Module and RSS Subscription Module work well together allowing your visitors to view your latest news and subscribe via RSS feed.
Administrators may edit multiple news files, in RSS format, right from Flashblocks ML, adding, deleting and rearranging news items.

Edit the menu below and change the template from horizontal to vertical layout. The image will automatically resize and crop to fit the new template. Text will auto wrap to fit the new template.

On this page you will find two PayPal Modules. Both allow the visitor to easily add items to a PayPal shopping cart.
